The success story of floor levelers
Early success with ARDUR 351
1954! This is the year that ARDEX began its triumphal march; the early success was called ARDUR 351. This new subfloor levelling compound left traditional gypsum and cellulose-based floor preparation materials in the dust.
ARDUR 351 was an instant success because the new types of linoleum, PVC and carpet flooring laid in many places needed a completely smooth subfloor. Thanks to its ease of application and consistently high quality, ARDUR 351 was the product of choice for installers, making it ARDEX' first bestseller, and particularly a longseller. It became ARDEX' first bestseller, and particularly a longseller.
After this early success, ARDEX continued to prove its innovative strength in floor levelling compounds. The next pioneering innovation, ARDEX K 15, was launched in 1977. And its success spans across the globe.
The picture at the top features the first pallet of ARDEX K 15 manufactured in the United States in 1978. Herbert Goller, founder of ARDEX Americas and on the far right in the picture, brought his young family and the ARDEX technology to the US. The introduction of self-leveling would disrupt the North American construction market, even to this day. ARDEX K 15 is still in the portfolio in many countries.
In 2013, another new product was introduced: ARDEX K 39, a reactivatable levelling compound. This product was perfect for one-man construction projects and was a completely new technology on the market. Its MICROTEC technology offers unique advantages, and the product can be used to create extremely smooth subfloors with an exceptionally long working time.
The latest innovation from the company is ARDEX K 55 S. The product with REVOCEM technology combines fast drying without tension and creates an extremely hard subfloor. The new rapid levelling compound is ideal for interior renovation and repair work where every minute counts. After just one hour, the levelled surface can be walked on and is ready for tiling - even in thick layers. Learn more about the product here.
